w32 erkezW32 erkez is a member of the mass-mailing worms' family. It copies itself to the folders of popular p2p sharing programs. The w32 erkez has its own smtp engine and sends itself as an attachment with one of the following extensions: zip, cmd, com, bat or pif. When the attachment is executed, the worm tries do disable any antivirus software it can find. To remove w32 erkez you have to restart computer in safe mode and then run appropriate antivirus or Trojan detecting software. It is also possible to manually remove w32 erkez from infected machine. This should also be done in safe mode, as the w32 erkez effectively prevents regedit or task manager from running, making impossible to kill the worm processes.
