If it detects an update, it will automatically download and install the change. View point Manager can be prevented from accessing the internet by simply selecting the disable auto-update within the View point Manger Control Panel. The confusion is that View point Manager shares a name, viewmgr.exe, with a Trojan virus. If you never installed this and see this file name, you have the virus and want to use a SpyWare Nuker type of removal program to correct.
