AproposMedia is adware that opens pop-up advertisements based on URL tracking. AproposMedia is also known as Envolo after the name of the updater component included in People On Page.

AproposMedia is a browser helper object that monitors internet browsing sessions in an attempt to redirect search queries and distribute unsolicited advertisements. The application typically installs as a bundled component with several freeware utilities; however, AproposMedia has also been known to utilize ActiveX drive-by downloads in order to initialize a forced and/or perceivably hidden installation. AproposMedia may be associated with benign/unwanted/unsolicated software installations, hijacked Internet Explorer search pages (typically to unsolicited and irrelevant locations, many of which include blatant advertisements and/or adult content), unsolicited advertisements (typically occurring as popup or pop under windows), decelerated web browsing, and general system slowdown.The application is distributed by Peopleonpage, Inc, a known purveyor of adware systems and components. Note: AproposMedia is a back end component of PeopleOnPage.

Trend anti-virus classifies the SysAI variant as Adv.Apropos.D. AproposMedia / POP was bundled with Grokster around June 2003, and it installed by pop-up ActiveX drive-by download.
