ActualNamesThe ActualNames software is an address bar search hijacker targeting IE, Netscape and AOL browsers. It also seems to contain components to interfere with the sending of mail from various applications and web sites. However, the function of these files has not been pinned down. Actualnames software may or may not come with ActualNames/BrowseProxy, an ActiveX installer component, depending on how it was installed. It comes bundled with KazaaMate. Suspected also to be installed by ActiveX drive-by download from some pop-ups. Unlike the convenience that toolbar browsers offer, they also represent, online danger to many consumers. ActualNames is the nemesis of browsers of AOL, MSN and other browser software. For the most part, ActualNames targets the Internet Explorer, AOL, Alexa and other browser software. More upsetting, ActualNames allows a computer hack to hijack one's information by attaching software on the end-user's desktop without their knowledge.
